Who is Greyboy?

Greyboy is the online name of James Anthony Grey, a Kentucky-based owner of a 2003 Ford Escape, 3.0 L V6, 4x4. This site is a personal home page in the old-fashioned sense: photos of the truck, a radio-controlled monster truck built from a Barbie Escape, a few animations he was proud of, printable cards for the Escape-Central community, and the maintenance notes he actually used on his own vehicle.

The truck gets most of the attention, but a personal page should probably admit its other corners too. Lately that corner is watches: I have been comparing the high-end designs a lot, and most of that rabbit hole started with a hunt for an Audemars Piguet replica that looked right on the wrist. The short history

• 2002 — the site goes live in June, hosted on PowWeb, hand-coded in Netscape and FrontPage.
• 2002–2004 — the Escape photo gallery, the dancing-Escape GIFs, the R/C Bigfoot build (bfoot01–18), the business cards, the Tour de KY album, and the 12-step V6 oil change how-to all land on the site.
• August 30, 2004 — the Internet Archive captures the site as it stands today. That snapshot is the version this restoration is based on.
• December 2004 — the “new BarbFeet” chapter: four Barbfoot photos and the /bigbarb/ images, later preserved by other captures in the web archive.
• 2010s — the original site drifts into dormancy; the 2010-era captures show a placeholder page.
• 2026 — the site is restored and modernized: every original URL intact, missing images hunted down from other archive captures, layout rebuilt for phones and modern browsers.

What “restored” means here

The pages you are reading were rebuilt from the 2004-08-30 capture, with the original text and content preserved wherever it survived. The layout, navigation, styling and metadata are new; the words, photos, and GIFs are the originals. A few images that the 2004 capture missed — the four Barbfoot photos and the seven Big Barb images — were recovered from other Wayback Machine captures and put back in their original folders. Everything that no archive copy of has is marked honestly on the page where it used to be, rather than invented.
